PROJECT: FREE ACCESS

PROJECT: FREE ACCESS is a circular design activation powered by surplus materials and community collaboration. Led by MOE (Modular Optical Expression) at The Village, the project redistributes unused and sample materials to local creatives—transforming fabrics from The North Face, into opportunity.

The initiative invites designers, artists, makers, and builders to access reclaimed fabrics and materials that would otherwise go unused. Through hands-on circulation, participants explore sustainable practices while supplying new fabric materials into creative work rooted in reuse and experimentation.

Taking place in Washington, D.C., the activation functions as both a material resource hub and a creative gathering point, where community members can source materials, talk ideas, and connect with others working across fashion, design, art, and fabrication.

By redirecting surplus materials into the hands of the creative community, PROJECT: FREE ACCESS demonstrates how circular systems can power local culture, reduce waste, and unlock new forms of expression.
